What are you looking at?
- My 10-month old black lab, Phoebe. She was recently injured while being boarded, but is all better and energetic as ever now!
- Ted Lasso — we’re a bit late to the party and about halfway through the first season. The work Look Listen recently did for the Peabody Awards put this show on my radar. It’s a fun, hopeful show and a positive note to end the day on.
- The weather radar and my rain gauge — my family (dad and granddad mainly) have always put an inordinate amount of time into discussing and monitoring weather. I don’t know why — it’s usually such a mundane topic — but now I’m finding myself doing it, too. Phone calls with my dad almost always include discussing our most recent rainfall amounts (I know, riveting).
What are you listening to?
- The new Superwolves album. Superwolves is a duo comprised of Matt Sweeney and Will Oldham. They made their first record together 16 years ago and this is their 2nd. I loved the first one a whole bunch and am trying to get there with this new one.
- The Story Pirates podcast — any time our 8-year-old boy, Will, is in the car this is probably what we’re listening to. They basically “perform” stories that kids write and send in. They are super-talented, so it is very neat for kids to hear their stories interpreted and brought to life. And like so much content meant for kids these days, my wife and I find it pretty hilarious, as well.
